We are looking for a kitchen assistant to assist the Catering Lead to prepare and serve meals and to cleaning after meal service.

The objective of this role is to assist the Catering Lead to prepare and serve meals to the School students and staff, as well as cleaning after meal service.
The Kitchen Assistant reports to the Catering Lead and responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
-To adhere to good hygiene and safety practices at all times.
-To be available for training and refreshment sessions.
-To work 'non-student days' as indicated on Support Staff calendar
-To rotate duties as instructed by the Catering Supervisor, enabling team members to become familiar with other tasks and skills.
-To carry out cleaning tasks according to daily, weekly, half-termly and holiday schedules as designated by the Catering Supervisor through the Catering Lead.
-To replenish designated staff refreshment areas and ensure respective fridges are clean as scheduled
-To assist in, kitchen duties, food service and pot & -dishwashing duties as scheduled
-To participate in production of items for salad bar, fruit snacks and other mise en place tasks, for Lighthouse school students and staff (currently catering for approx. 600), under supervision of Catering Supervisor
-To assist in catering for any other requirements, such as school functions, when required.
-To assist in stock taking as designated by the Catering Supervisor.
CLEAN includes: -
-Dusting and /or wiping furniture.
-Sweeping & mopping of floors and stairways.
-Cleaning windows and doors.-
-Cleaning dirty marks off walls.
-Cleaning toilets using correct materials
-Clearing refuse to designated area.
Qualifications and Experience Required
-Current Food Handlers Certificate (can be assisted to get if hired)
-3 years experience in Food handling and/or kitchen cleaning
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
English language required. French or Creole a benefit.
Working Days/Hours
-The Kitchen Assistant is a full-time job (40 hours per week). S/he is required to meet his/her contractual obligations at the school, in person, between 7:00/7:30 am - 4:00 / 4:30pm as per the calendar set for Non-Teaching Staff.
