Description
You will be part of a team serving in a very practical way!
Ministry details
While a lot of OM’s ministry is “in the field” through evangelism and discipleship, we still have very down-to-earth needs, including maintaining our property. You will be helping OM to steward its resources well, making more finances available for mobilising French into missions, and discipling the least-reach youth generations. You will also contribute to OM’s good witness in the community. We will start each day with a short time of sharing and prayer, before getting into our practical tasks. Our primary goal for the week is to repair the rendering on the outside of the OM base, and give two coats of paint. This will take preparation and good teamwork, under the guidance of a team leader. If you have experience in leading this kind of project, and are prepared to help in advance with preparation (even remotely), please inform us early in the application process. Depending on progress, weather and team capacity, we may also tackle some additional maintenance projects (e.g. sanding and painting interior doors, door frames, shutters, gardening, painting gates etc.) We would like to leave one day for a team outing, to enjoy being with each other and discovering some local tourism. We will attend a local church on Sunday morning (with translation available).
Purpose
Come and serve God in France using your practical skills (buildings maintenance or cooking), and support the work of the OM team by contributing to essential repair work.
Participant profile
Do you love Jesus, and want to serve him in a practical way? Do you have some skills in DIY or property maintenance? Or are you prepared to serve as a cook? Can you work as a team? Even if that means submitting to a team-leader? If you answered “YES” to these questions, then we would love for you to join us!
Notes
This option is weather-dependent. While we hope and pray that this week will be dry, and that the painting will be possible, we are subject to the weather, and so the final decision to maintain the week will be decided two weeks prior to arrival. The outreach fee is to help OM offset the costs of food and renovation supplies.
